My Dad went to heaven at 10:00 p.m., Monday, September 29, 2008, he was 80. It has been so hard to adjust to life without him. The last two years have pretty much been about him. The whole family would check on him before making plans. I miss him so much. There is just something about losing your last parent. My Mom had a heartattack and went to heaven on November 8, 1982, she was 48.
I'm so happy that Dad saw his great-grandchildren. He was so proud of them and would show off their pictures to everyone. He has two that were named for him....Danny & Debbie have Cannon Lee, the oldest twin and Jeremy & Bridget have Hunter Lee. I sure wish my Mom could have been here and seen them, she would have really helped spoil them.
Dad loved his family so much. I think he was the kindest, most unselfish person I have ever known. He left this world very peacefully. I had been there all day, came home and showered and went back to the hospital. Jeremy, Danny Glen and I were there with him. Danny & I had just left the room when Jeremy came and told us that he was with Granny. I couldn't believe he had went so fast. Jeremy was holding his hand, so I know he was happy. Jeremy told us that Dad's grip lessened some and Jeremy said, "Doc, are you leaving me?" Then the grip was lessend more. Jeremy said, "Granddaddy give Granny a hug and tell her that I love her." Then he went to be with my Mom. A very peaceful move from this world to heaven. I wish I could have been there with him but God knows what is best and for some reason He called him home when my brother and I were out of the room.
